About Nonprofit Figures

Nonprofit Figures shows the financial history of U.S. tax-exempt organizations from their IRS filings: revenue, expenses and net assets by year, how the money is spent, and how an organization compares with others of the same kind in the same state. It is meant for donors, grant seekers, nonprofit staff, journalists and researchers who want the numbers without a rating attached. 2,964 organizations in 45 states have a page so far, and the set grows in stages.

Who runs it

The site is operated by Ökrös László EV., Hungary. It is an independent project, with no connection to the IRS or any other government body, and no charity or foundation pays for a listing. Questions, corrections and removal requests go through the contact form.

Where the data come from

• IRS Exempt Organizations Business Master File – identity, location, classification, status.
• IRS Statistics of Income extracts of Forms 990, 990-EZ and 990-PF, 2012 to 2024 – yearly financial figures.
• IRS Form 990 e-file data – expense split, staffing, mission and newer years.
• IRS Publication 78 and the Automatic Revocation of Exemption List – deductibility and revocation history.

What it does not do

It does not rate or rank organizations as good or bad, and it publishes no information about the individuals who run or fund them. See theprivacy notice for the fields that are never read and the terms of use for the limits of the content.
